FLAAR Reports:

Tampoprint CP 70, DMD 1500, DMD EP 1600 solvent ink flatbed printers

If you need a custom-made printer to handle objects a meter thick, then Tampoprint is probably the only place that can build you such a unique printer.

But if you need to print on picnic tables, beer garden tables, napkins, place mats, you are better off getting a Durst Rho, Inca or comparable printer that offers a high quality that you can look at without seeing banding or splotchyness. The quality at FESPA was at least noticeably better than the awful splotchy output shown in the Tampoprint booth at DRUPA 2004 trade show.

The Tampoprint CP 70 reminds me of the Aellora printers, which is a logo or label UV printer. The Tampoprint CP 70 handles up to 7 cm, which is just a few inches wide.

We hope that Tampoprint printers work better than their website. Although non-linking links can happen anywhere (we have too many ourselves), a million dollar German company that builds precision equipment should be able to build a website that works. Plus, their “news” on June 20, 2005 all dated to the year 2004 (again, we have lots of pages dating back to 2001, but we are not a commercial company and our latest news is from FESPA trade show, early June).

My other question is why Tampoprint does not offer a UV-cured ink system? At FESPA trade show everyone else was showing UV-inks. Tampoprint and Graphtec were about the only companies that featured solvent ink or eco-solvent ink flatbeds.

UV flatbeds which gantry can be lifted are especially useful to print on applications that have been already assembled. In the photo, you see a cabinet door being printed on, without putting parts appart.
